It's quite an old machine, and fairly slow by modern standards. Ok for email and web-use. If it's got a good battery and is cheap, then fine, but don't expect to play any modern games on it.

If you can afford it, for a new Intel Mac - a Macbook or Macbook Pro. The cheapest new ones are on the Apple site http://apple.com/ukstore - scroll down and click the Refurbished Mac link on the right.

apple.com is your best bet for the newer ones, but for the older laptops and prices then the only place they're likely to be found is on Ebay or maybe amazon, apple dont tend to sell 'obselete' stock.
