  1. No, Lasik is not for everyone. Determination depends on whether you are farsighted or nearsighted, how thin your corneas are, how much astigmatism you have, if you have a lazy eye (like me), how well you can be corrected with glasses or contacts. If you can't be corrected past 20/60, most Opthamologists won't do Lasik on you. If you're farsighted, it can be done, but it's a little more complicated because more tissue has to be removed by the laser. If you are very nearsighted, your corneas might be too thin and Lasik would do more harm than good. Usually doctors will wait until you are at least 19 or 20 before they will even consider Lasik because that's when most people stop growing and their Rx stabilizes. Good luck, hope I helped.
