Anyone go to Deep Creek Lake, Maryland?

Is it fun? We like little quaint towns and shops with the beauty of nature. Is it like Lake George, NY?

I had a lot of fun.  You can go kayaking or canoeing, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, mountain biking, and there's a lot to do in winter as well.  

I went boating and tubing there, and it was a lot of fun. There were a lot of water skiers, tons of other boats, and wave runners.

Swallow falls State Park, just southwest of Deep Creek is really nice.  Muddy Creek is the state's highest free-falling waterfall, and it's located in Swallow falls.  You can swim in the water and even go under the falls.  It's a really great photo opp.  The water's kind of cold this time of year, but if you're adventurous it's still a lot of fun.  ...or you can just go to take pictures and observe.  It's a nice area to just walk around, especially if you like nature. It looks like a great place to hike too.

From the pictures I've seen of Lake George, it looks similar to DC in some photos.  It looks like Deep Creek could have more surrounding trees though.  

I think you'd enjoy it.  There are a few shops there, and there's definitely a lot of nature to see.

i haven't but my mom told me about it. we were gonna go, but she said its not that big of a place so it probabaly isn't fun as somewhere big with alot of shops, ya know?
