Recently moved here and decided to try my luck at some slots..Only place you can play them are at the local indian casinos here.

BIG MISTAKE.. I did not know these were not real slot machines. They are actually Video Lotteyr Terminals. When you push the spin button it is the same as playing a lottery scratch of ticket. TALK ABOUT A RIPOFF.

Being new to the state, why are the machines like this? What right does the state have to tell the indians how to operate machines on THEIR OWN land. These video lottery machines are absolutely terrible. Hardly any progressives. Most you can win is 750.00 on most of the machines and you have to be betting max credits.

Anyone else frequent these Indian dumps?

  1. I played at the Northern Quest over the 4th and won quite a bit on slots.

regardless of what anyone says to the contrary, Indian casinos aren't regulated as to RTP (payout percentages) and most are low variance (giving you lots of crappy little 'wins' so you feel like your winning as it sucks you dry at probably under 75%. At least the crappiest machines in truckstops and airports in Nevada are sure to be no less than 75% and some are high variance so you actually stand a chance of taking down more than $1000 win.

Only reason I played there was mixing it with a trip for the  BB King concert and it was pure strange fortune to walk out with more than I came in with. I won't be returning soom.

Indian casinos are more like amusement with a prize, and no way to 'force' the prize. It's just expensive entertainment.

I'll just be saving my money and booking a swavacations package to Reno or Vegas between t-day and xmas when it's really cheap. (because like the slot idiot I am sometimes, I blew my winnings at the clearwater on the way back :(

  2. In Florida we have a number of Indian Casinos.  Not only are the games fasters with less chance to win; but beware, you are not on U.S. soil when you go on the reservation.  If you have legal troubles, such as a fight or accident, you are at the mercy of the tribal courts.  There are countless horror stories about such incidents.
