  1. If he has vacation time availible then he can use it. They can't tell him no.

You have a two week old baby. Have him tell his boss that he wants to take the baby to his check up or the baby has been acting up and maybe he's sick so you guys are taking him to the doctor. That's not out of the ordinary for a concerned parent.

  2. prostate check up, no one will want to ask.....or just act like an adult and take a days holiday ffs, since when do you have to justify doing that?

  3. he tells his boss that you are 'stuck on the toilet' and are feverish. babysitter can't risk infection so he is the only one who can take care of you, and keep the baby comforted in sterile environment

  4. He should just call in sick! thats the easiest option!

or say he has a doctors/opticians/dentist appointment that will take a while.

  5. 2 hours - urgent dental appointment or optitians if hubby wears glasses

full day - try to avoid a bereavement or funeral as you may get caught out later if a real one occurs/ central heating boiler packed in/leaky plumbing needs sorting/I don't know how far he has to travel, possibly problem with car/you need to go somewhere (your mum's or a close friend?) so he has to stop at home to mind the baby

I'm an ex-manager so I've heard lots of them over the years :-)

  6. why doesnt he just ask for a days holiday?

  7. I'd say funeral...

or he can say it's a "family emergency" then they wont get into questions as it's personal.

  8. Why do you need an excuse? Just ask the boss for a days leave off your leave entitlement ,and just tell him it is for personal reasons

  9. Dentist appointment, relative in hospital, crashed car on way to work-can't make it in.

  10. traffic jam. my wife is pregnant and delivered a boy/girl.bike car problem, puncture, bus puncture. a police asked my DL which i did not have. diarrhea.

  11. Take a days holiday. Or, call in sick, but if he is going to keep going to interviews til he gets offered another job then I wouldn't recommend a sickie every time! Or one that works for me is a "forgotten" hospital appointment, and needs to leave early, and doesn't know how long he's going to be. Best thing to do is arrange several interviews for one day, then take the day as holiday, as this would be done in advance, no one would know a thing, or get suspicious. Good luck!

  12. funeral, doctors appointment (although they might want some proof) or he could pull a sicky for the day. I'd say funeral is probably better, someone distant from your side of the family, that way he wouldn't have to be too upset and he would really be going to support you. That way if he is spotted later on, he doesn't have to pretend to be ill!
