Anyone good at math problems involving temperature?

the temperature in a tool shed is 18 degrees above zero and the temperature outside is 6 degrees below zero. how many degrees difference is there between the two temperatures?

  4. guessing you are talking about degrees cellcius. Then the difference is 24 degrees

  5. All you need to do is subtract one from the other and then take the absolute value...  

    18 - (-6) = 24

    -6 - 18 = -24

    Absolute value of both 24 and -24 is 24...  QED

  6. Ya it is 24. Because inside temp is +18 degrees and outside it is -6 degrees. So the difference will be 18-(-6)=24
