Anyone good at writing thesis sentences or know how to do it?

im writing about the book Native Son (you don't have to know anything about it) but im writing about how the main characters past has to do with why he acts the way he does in his present life.

thanks for your help! i know this is tricky.

Remember that your thesis statement is a single sentence that summarizes what your going to discuss in your paper.  In this case, you might say that "In his novel Native Son, author ________ explores the idea that our previous experiences contribute at least in part to our actions and reactions in the present."  The end needs a little work, but that's the basic idea.  You've just summarized the entire paper in a single sentence...your thesis statement.
