3x-3x+13+y=15

Take 13 to the other side

3x-3x+y=15-13

   Here you cannot find the value exactly because there are 2 unknown variables. You can find a fraction of the variables

take the variables to one side and values on to the other side

x/y = 28/14

x/y =2

Now you can write the value of x and y in this manner as shown below

x=2y

y=x/2

2) 3x +13 +y=15+3x

    -3x -13    =-13 -3x

    0x +0 +y =2

    y=2

x can equal any number, because the equation is already balanced, i.e. 3x + 13 +2 = 15+ 3x so,

3x + 15= 15 + 3x, so x = anything.

For #3 you need to use division instead of subtraction.

3) 14x=28y

    /14  /14

     x = 2y

and thus x= 2
