I cannot get up in the mornings for more than one morning in like a whole week! Ive tried setting two alarm clocks, putting them on snooze, putting them on the other side of the room... and I still somehow end up drifting back to sleep. I don't go to sleep that late and allow myself 8 hours sleep (plenty). I can't carry on like this for when I go back to school!! can someone give me some advice for managing to wake up when my alarm goes? I also feel TERRIBLE when i overdose on sleep, so if i can somehow get up I would also feel a lot better!!

  2. When you reach a level of maturity to understand that you are being irresponsible, and or you lose a good job over this nonsense then you'll get up...

Once you get up to turn off an alarm...Then you know you cannot allow yourself to lay there any longer..you must go from the alarm clock to the bathroom or kitchen..

I have 2 alarm clocks,  both are battery backed up, because I cannot be late, or my company loses a great deal of revenue... and I would lose my job. I haven't been late for over 20 years, I also have never taken a sick day except for a broken ankle once and a blown knee, both of which landed me in the hospital for surgery...

That's responsibility and dedication to the job...

  3. Keep a beverage next to your bed( maybe coke, but cold tea or coffee will do, just make sure there's sugar on it) set the alarm on the other side of the room, and when you get up drink a cup, you'll find it more difficult to go back to sleep.

I just realized you're a girl, so you probably don't want sugar to ruin your figure.

Try this instead keep a small container of water next to your bed, when you get up ( same deal as before) put your foot in it.

  4. ook im exactly the same way and after tons of attempted methods..i found the one and only that works. first of all, there isnt any way to wake up in the mornings without some sacrifice, so once you hear the alarm clock, get up from the bed stand up and walk around, go wash your face, and walk around some more.

after that you won´t be able to sleep anymore.

also get used to sleeping in a very dark room and in the morning when you get up and after you´re all awake and up turn the lights on and do everything u have to do

if you do that everyday your brain will associate light with waking up so it will get easier

my brain got used to that now my problem is that sometimes my parents are still awake and keep the hallway light on so my brain will refuse to fall asleep

but if you sleep in a dark room everyday it should work

    well goodluck!

  5. BIOLOGICAL CLOCK this is the thing controls ur sleep cycles. sleep has two parts REM and NREM. rapid eye movement and non-rapid eye movement. phases. the actual sleep will be NREM. k now coming to ur case u have to change ur attitude towards ur daily life. i mean u have to some thing new i.e. i suggest u do things that u are doing now A 1 and half hour early for exactly 24 days and u will definitly find the difference.

  6. get in the shower immediately....it will make you feel like a new person ! I'm a die-hard coffee drinker, so I make a pot first thing when I get up.

  7. You're right in saying that it affects you when you oversleep, so why not controlling the hours in which you sleep. It will affect you when you go back to school, but you should only face this problem in the last week of the holidays. Don't go to bed too late as if its a school night and wake up at a reasonable hour.

If you really do need assistance in waking up, ask your mum/dad to pester you to get up, try a nice cup of tea/coffee and get into a shower  straight away so that you don't drift back to sleep!

Good Luck and hope this helps!

  8. Sleep early in night..before 11p.m with drinking lots of waters....u can unwishingly rise up early in the morning...U have drink lots of water.
