Anyone got any tips for a night out in Newcastle?

Myself and a couple of lads are going down to newcastle tomorrow(Thursday) for a ccouple of nights out.

Has anyone got tips on what pub or areas to head to? Also is it like glasgow where you need to wear proper shoes to get into most places?

Also, we are staying in Whitley bay, how far is it from the city centre?

yeah, my tip is don't go drinking there. It is full of Geordies. You will have to ask for subtitles when they speak.

As the guy above me has already mentioned, Whitley is a good night out. The first guy who answered hasnt got a clue what he is talking about, I lived in Newcastle for 25 years and never met anyone who had been mugged on a night out.

Tips - oh yes!

If it is nickable - lock it up or nail it down

Wallet - don't take one

Car - remove everything that can be nicked - including the wheels.

Then - don't go

You can get the metro from Whitley Bay direct to Newcastle, Try the quayside as there are plenty pubs and clubs. Newcastle is a great night out,

whitley is a taxi away from newcastle but metros are dead easy and cheap to city centre dress code is smart but casual in 99% of places,brill night out but you will need a month of sundays to even scratch the surface of places to go youll be spoilt for choice! go to cloth market and quayside ,have fun!

Whitley Bay is good for the night out, plenty of pubs and clubs.  Metro is best and cheapest way to get to Newcastle.  The Newcastle Quay side has the better pubs and clubs but the Bigg Market is good too.  Where ever you go have a great time and enjoy.
