Anyone had adverse reaction to the meningitis shot? My son is 18 and may have to get it. Is it manditory yet?

I have a friend that her daughter got the shot but got sick afterwards. I haven't heard from them and wondered about having my son get his yet.

I think you need to do some online research for yourself.  What I have read online seems pretty scary, but I am not out to influence you.  I want to encourage you to run a search for problems with meningitis vaccine and see what comes up.  Some of the articles are older, so try to find the newer ones.  Educate yourself, then talk it over with a doctor who will listen to your concerns.  Remember it is your sons decision, so include him.

Some colleges try to say it is mandatory, but they cannot force all students to get all vaccines.  It is not right in some cultures, just check to see what you may have to do.  (Sometimes it is simply sign a paper.)

I got the Meningitis shot last week.

after 20 minutes i was fine.

Adverse reactions are rare to that vaccination. As far as mandatory... not sure. But if you compare getting meningitis vs. getting the shot, I will opt for the shot. It's not a pretty way to die.
