  1. I've been on seroquel for several months and it doesn't help much, if at all, with my OCD.  It's not made for that.  It's made for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.  It's especially good for those who can't sleep...it's a good sedative.  For schizophrenia though, it's an average drug for most and a very good drug for some.

  2. Seroquel has helped my OCD a lot, but its different for each person.

  3. I have a close relative who takes Seroquel for schizophrenia. He has had a lot of improvement on it, despite the fact that it knocks him out, he also has trouble getting up early in the morning. He did not gain weight and has had no abnormal digestive issues. However, Seroquel XR (extended release) did not work so well. Although the side effects were minimal, it ended up messing up his routine and eventually led to medication noncompliance, and eventually an episode. We had to get him back on regular Seroquel. But everything works differently for everyone.

  4. My good friend has OCD.  He took seroquel.  He did not feel the effects were worth it.  He now takes Abilify.

I took seroquel and I gained 40 lbs.  I was also very tired.  I had a horrible time waking up in the AM.  I am now on Abilify, but for bipolar disorder.

  5. I don't have OCD or Schizophrenia, but I do have borderline personality disorder, and I take Seroquel-- Seroquel is a LIFE saver!!!!  I can now function on a normal basis again, the only side effect I has was weight gain-- and it all went to my b*****s and my hips.  Yes, it was definantly worth it for me.

  6. dont worry all meds have side effects you want to try haloperidol before you worry
