Question:

Anyone had any problems with the after effects of Spinal Tap?

I had a spinal tap a few days ago and had a severe headache. I went yesterday and had an epidural blood patch done. It helped my head 100 percent. But after leaving my back hurts severely! I can hardly move, get up, walk or anything without it catching or jolting with pain. I know I have a bruise on my back but this doesn't feel like a bruise. The doctor gave me a prescription for pain meds that help some but it still hurts. Has anyone else had this happen? Also, the doc who did my blood patch was appalled at how many times I had been "stuck" for the spinal tap and at how large the bruising was. By the way, I do not bruise easily. Any answers are appreciated!!

  1. Have you tried a warm compress or heating pad? Sleeping on a heating pad at night should help. Also, you can take a bath in epsom salt. I never follow the directions, I just pour it in there. I think they say two tablespoons or something I put in half a cup or more, but maybe you should follow the directions. Always helped me.
