Question:

Anyone had problems with the Walther PPK/s?

I have had runing issues with my Walther PPK/s .32 semi automatic pistol.

Jamming, stove piping, ramp issues and ammo issues.

I have polished the ramp, which helped slightly.

I use Browning 7.65 which works great, other ammo will get stoppages for some reason?

Stove piping I have modified my grip for such a small pistol.

Plus I have fired 500 rounds or more through this pistol. Which due to rising ammo costs is all about I can afford to fire through it.

So that now all I have to do is to zero the sights which will mean taking it to a gun smith as for the Walther requires special tools to correct the sights.

Anyone else had problems with this pistol? Seems like a pain in the *** for an out of the box pistol.

I would never use this as my primary as it's too unreliable. I just want to fix it up, make it as reliable as possible and sell it to a gun dealer listing all its faults.

In contrast I recently bought a Ruger P345 .45 pistol, great groupings and accuracy and no problems and fired more than 500 rounds through it. I trust my life with this pocket cannon.

  1. Had a used PPK years ago with the same issues. Forget anything but round nosed ball ammo in that one. It was soon traded away for something else.

Problems could be springs (too stiff or to weak) and the biggest feeding problem area people neglect to address is the magazine. Sometimes just tweaking the mag lips can cure some issues, but this is not for the mechanically uninclined.

I would detail your issues with a letter and contact Walther USA to demand resolution. At 500 rounds, any "break in" issues should have been getting better. Demand satisfaction.

  2. Get A Walther P99
