It's a website where you can track your runs and it tells you the distance that you ran.

To run a mile you should start running at least five times a week. I suggest running in the early morning since there is less traffic. You need to slowly build up the distances you run.

(eg. 0.25 miles the first few days, then try to run .50 miles without stopping. After you feel comfortable running .50 miles, you can try to run a mile afterwards.)

It might take a little over a week to run a mile if you can't run one. Also you need to rest sometime in the week b/c your leg muscles need a break.

Make sure you stretch before and after running. You don't want too much lactic acid in your legs.

If your going to join cross country, meets are either 1.5 miles (for freshmen only) 2.5 miles, or 3.1 miles

  2. Go to your local high school track and run in 4 laps around the track and thats a mile. If you get under  A 6min30sec then consider yourself a miler. Start training and your should be competing with the other runners at your school.

Get down under 5min30sec by track season
