Anyone have Palmer PLS or Burton risers?

Saw a few reviews with much praise, just wondering if anyone here has anything to say about them. The mountain closest to me has more ice than I would like, my girlfriend and I are beginners and I think this should only help. She was sooooo frustrated with trying to control the board the one time we went, I hope this can solve some of the problem. I think I may get a pair myself. Whattayathink?

  1. I rode the Palmer risers for about a season and they helped me a lot with toe drag (my boots are size 12).  However, I have no idea if toe drag is even an issue with your setup (what size boots do you have and what is the waist width of the board?).  I would guess that toe drag is not an issue with your gf unless shes a beast.  Bottomline...if toe drag is the problem yes they are great but if that is not the issue then they really wouldnt do anything for you (save your money and drive to a mtn with better conditions).

  2. As said correctly by the guy above risers are basically for people who have too much overhang on there heel and toe edge. You should have around 1cm overhang on either side of your board, much more than this then risers would help but ideally you would be better off with a wider board. Your problems with controlling the board is probably more to do with the fact you are both begineers and are learning in not ideal (icey) conditions.
