Anyone have a Cadillac and know how to program the gps location?

My friends CTS-V navigation is stuck in California and we live in New Jersey! Before we take it back to the dealer, does anyone know how to reset the location? We tried driving in circles so it would maybe pick it up a diff satellite, but no luck. Its great we'll be driving down the highway and it will say we are in the middle of a lake. lol

I own a 07 Cad Escalade and the GPS system should follow you where ever you go. Do you have OnStar? If you do, call it and ask how to change region.

I would say look on the menu to see if there is a regional selection, some navigation systems requires the user to switch regions before it can route. If you have an older unit it is also possible that there is different CD regional maps for your unit and requires you to have the proper region before it can offer you turn by turn direction.

If that is the case, the map will cost you probably more than a brand new portable GPS unit.

What year CTS-V do you own and have you explore the GPS menu to see if there is a setting for Regions?

have you tried looking in the owners manuel. or try diconnecting the battery for ten minutes. or call the dealer they may tell you over the phone
