  1. 1C Karo (or other brand corn syrup)

    1C Sugar

    1C Peanut butter

    6C Rice Krispies

    1C Chocolate chips

    1C Butterscotch chips

Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan and set aside.

Heat Karo and sugar until a slow boil. Once it begins to boil, immediately remove from heat, so as not to burn.

Add the peanut butter to Karo and sugar mixture and mix until the peanut butter has melted and combined with the liquid.

Add Rice Krispies and mix well. Immediately pour the Rice Krispies mixture into the greased 9 x 13 inch pan.

Combine the chips in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in the microwave until melted. Be sure to melt the chips slowly, checking them often, so they’re properly tempered and will spread properly.

Spread the melted chocolate over the cooling bars. Place in a cool dry place until the bars have set. Cut and serve.

  2. I make the recipe on the Rice Krispies box, but add 1/2 cup creamy pb when the marshmallows start to melt.  After spreading the treats in the pan, I melt some chocolate chips in the microwave and spread a thin layer on top of the treats like frosting.

  3. PEANUT BUTTER RICE CRISPY BARS

    1 cup sugar

    1 cup light corn syrup

    1 cup peanut butter

    6 cups rice crispies

Add sugar and syrup. Bring to a gentle boil; just enough to dissolve sugar completely. Do not over cook as the bars will get hard.

Remove from heat. Add peanut butter, stir in completely.

Stir and add rice crispies slowly, mixing completely.

Pour into 9 x 13 glass (plastic) cake pan.

    Let cool.

    Enjoy!

  4. Try this recipe. It is delicious, believe me!!

Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats Ingredients

2 cups granulated sugar  2 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter (I prefer JIF)

2 cups (22 ounces) light corn syrup  6 cups Rice Krispies, divided (for chocolate flavor substitute Cocoa Krispies)

Instructions for Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats

Line a 13- by 9-inch pan with foil. Spray lightly with nonstick cooking spray.

Place 5 cups of the Rice Krispies in a large bowl (the largest bowl you have).

Place sugar and corn syrup in a large non-stick saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Continue to boil for 1 minute, no more. (Boiling time is important, it guarantees the perfect texture.)

Turn off burner and remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the peanut butter until incorporated. Add mixture to the Rice Krispies, stirring to coat. Add the remaining cup of Rice Krispies 1/4-cup at a time, stirring and checking consistency before adding more. You want to have some candy mixture remaining without rice krispies. I usually have about 1/4 cup of Krispies left at the end (only adding about 5 3/4 cups). You do not want them too dry.

Spread the mixture evenly into prepared pan. Let cool before cutting into squares. (Warm knife in hot water to help cut nice, clean squares.)

  5. PEANUT BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE RICE

    KRISPIE TREATS

    6 c. Cocoa Rice Krispies

    1 c. Karo syrup

    1 c. sugar

    1 1/2 c. peanut butter

    1/4 c. Hershey's cocoa

Mix Karo syrup, sugar, and cocoa; bring to a rolling boil. Remove from heat; add peanut butter and mix well. Pour over cereal and press into a greased 9x13 inch pan.

    3 c. Rice Krispies

1 lg. bag (12 oz.) plus 1 sm. (6 oz.) bag chocolate chips

    1/3 bar paroseal wax

Mix together first 4 ingredients and squeeze into balls. In a double boiler, melt the remaining ingredients. Dip peanut butter balls into melted chocolate mixture and drain on waxed paper. Depending on size of balls, Makes about 70 balls.
