Just starting out running. So I will be walking for the next couple of weeks. I do want to log all my exercises in a word file. Anyone have any suggestion for a good download or what information I need to log. Thanks

  1. what I suggest is you get a composition notebook and write down the workouts.  You can carry it with you or just read it when you want too, without you having to log on your computer, so much easier , it has helped me a whole lot too.  55 miles a week is a long time without a log book to remind you.

  2. There is a great free website that requires no downloading. It's called runningahead.com. It has everything you could possibly want to log: weight, time, distance, intensity, temperature, time of day, ect. Also, it keeps track of how many miles you've logged on your shoes. Anyway it's a free and easy to use website that I highly recommend.

  3. etraxc.com

  4. Your answer will depend on what you goal(s) are.  If you are a competitive runner then you will want to keep very carful records to be in peak shape for important race(s). However, if you are running for your own personal fitness, then you will not need to be as specific. Either way I would strongly suggest that do record the mileage that you run every week after buying a new pair of shoes. The reason for this is that a good pair of running shoes is only designed for 500 miles of running. Thereafter, your chances of injury go up.  There are ways to extend this millage but that is another topic.

Let me know and then I will reply with what information you should be keeping.
