Anyone have a good veggie burger recipe available?

Just stuff you have made; no cut-and-paste jobs, please! I am also looking for recipes from scratch, so no prepared ingredients also. Thanks in advance!

  1. marinate a portabello mushroom(take off stem and remove the "gills") in italian dressing and grill it like you would a burger...dress with lettuce, tomato and your favorite dressings and enjoy


  2. I make fake meat with can pumpkin then add in Oatmeal,  Wheat germ and Soya Sauce then either seasoning salt or barbeque seasoning.  Result I get fake burger meat..   I use for fake meatloafs,  fake meat balls,  fake burgers!  For more recipes see my blog  ca.360.yahoo.com/ddherbals

  3. I really like this recipe:

    Black Bean Burgers

    Ingredients (use vegan versions):

        1 large can black beans

        1/4 cup diced yellow onion

        1/4 cup diced red bell pepper

        1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

        1 egg substitute

        1 cup seasoned bread crumbs

        2 tablespoon fresh chopped cilantro

        2 tablespoon olive oil

        top w/ salsa, alfalfa sprouts, &/or guacamole

    Directions:

    Rinse black beans. In a large bowl, mash black beans then add onion, bell pepper, cayenne pepper, egg substitute, vegan bread crumbs and cilantro.  Blend until all ingredients are mixed well.  Form bean mixture into patties and place on a baking pan or cookie sheet (spray pan with non-stick spray).  Bake at 350 for 10 mins.  Or you can fry them in olive oil.  I recommend baking them.

    Serves: 6, Preparation time: 30

  4. Instant Gluten Steaks

    3 C instant gluten flour

    1 C whole wheat

    ½ C minute tapioca

    1 Tbsp bacon yeast

    ½ tsp salt

    ½ tsp garlic powder

    ½ tsp onion powder

    ½ tsp onion salt

    4 Tbsp yeast flakes

    Mix dry ingredients well. Add all at once:

    Add 3 C water plus ½ C soy sauce

    Stir quickly and knead alittle. Let stand in colander while making broth.

    Broth:

    In large pot add:  3 Tbsp oil

                                      1-2 Tbsp Savorex

                                      3 Tbsp chicken seasoning

                                      1 tsp salt

                                       1 tsp bacon yeast

                                      ÃƒÂ‚½ tsp garlic salt

                                       4 Tbsp yeast flakes

                                      12-13 C water

                                       ½ C soy sauce

    Bring broth to a rapid boil. Stir and place on a low simmer heat. Cut gluten mixture into 3 rolls like jelly roll and cut and into slices. Pat down. Use a wet board when cutting. Add gluten slices to boiling broth and simmer for 1 hour.

  5. puree any veggies in your house add about half a cup of flour {when your done} then put in the frying pan {mold into a pattie} an walla a burger
