Anyone have a very mouthy 2yr old that will boss you around? Does it drive you CRAZY?

just need to know I am not the only one...my older daughter never does this and my little boy is just sooooo testy and pushy...time outs are ineffective too!

Your child needs to know that you are the boss. Never let him win in an argument. If you give in he knows he can control you and he won't respect you as he get's older. I know it's easier to give in (I have 2 strong willed little girls). But he will love you more if you are strong.

Yes yes and Yes my daughter is a right little madam I think if you already have a child like me I find that my daughter picks up a lot from her big brother. On a good day she is tolerable but on a bad day she can nearly have me in tears. I have tried timeout that doesnt work but I find that if you try and ignore the tantrums which is harder than it sounds!!!!

If it gets too much for me I give myself timeout I make sure they are safe and shut myself in kitchen for 10 mins or so.

I dont have any 2 y/o yet, but I would give him/her a swat on the behind if they tried to boss me around....oh no give me all your thumbs down for supposedly beating my children b/c I will spank my children

I have an "almost 3 y/o girl who does the same with me.. anything I ask her to do her answer is most always a "NO".but if dads asks her to do the same thing the response is always, yes daddy!! this drives me nuts...and worst is after bath time trying to get her dressed and brush her hair! even trying to make a game out of it doesn't help.. and I am finding the adult time out also works at times...sometimes i just get so frustrated Im more than tempted to just give in !

My boys are definately different than my daughters. My 4 y/o was very bossy when he was 2. We just kept telling him that it wasn't ok, and didn't give in, and he eventually grew out of it. Good luck.
