  1. There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills (fast typing, 10 key), may want you to know excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but it is rare.

One option is to freelance and bid for data entry jobs. However, you are bidding along with many people and often other countries-so you may have to bid really low just to get a job and/or project.

Another option is to offer data entry services to businesses in your area. It can be done, I know people who have done this but it is not easy to do.

  2. I've tried lots of different things to earn money from home. None of them were scams, but the majority of them didn't earn the kind of money I would have liked to be earning.  Eventually, I found a home based business that didn't cost money to get started with. It's been the best thing for my family and I love what I'm doing now.

  3. I've been doing some work with www.elance.com the past week, all the work is home based, data entry, transcription etc. The only thing is you're competing against people from countries where the hourly rate of pay is a lot lower, so not sure if it would be worth it for you.

Also have a look at the jobs listed here, most are applicable to us,canada, europe, its quite good, thats where I found the above link.

Its been updated today to include some Craft type jobs which can be done from home, mainly re-distribution, but it possible to make good money from it if you work hard.

So many online jobs are out there. In fact, to do any online job, you need not want to invest anything. Make sure, you dont pay anything to get jobs online. It is just that need to pick the one that suits you the best. I hope this helps you and I believe you will find the online job that you love the most. Thanks

  4. "If a company requires initial payment from you in order to work for them, they are not legitimate."

Work-at-Home ads/surveys/stuffing envelopes/data entry/typing/get paid to read emails/view ads/assembling stuff usually don't pay off. Be especially wary of ads that promise huge annual salaries; they often require expensive upfront fees with no guarantee. You risk losing your money and wasting a lot of time and energy.

  5. On the net your in danger of been caught up with online schemes and scams, if your going to do anything why not start with a website include your hobbies on it and place ads on the site which will bring you in an income and then your not giving anyone a cut of your profits.

  6. Project payday is CRAZY right! I tried that a while back. Just not for me. I have since then spent a lot of time researching home based income and would be happy to answer any questions you have. Email me anytime.

  7. Sure, I have two totally unrelated businesses from products I created myself - do the same thing - find a hobby you enjoy and figure out a way to make money with it - I don;t make a lot, but I don't promote it much anymore and the gross profit margins are over 90% - I have make several $1000's profit in a couple of years, possibly I could build it back up to that point again
