Could anyone please help me? One day i switched my TV on and the screen seems to be pinched in like with 2 black semi-circles at the sides of the picture going from top to bottom at each end (similar to the way you can change the display on a pc monitor). I have went through every option on the tv remote and cant get it back to the full screen as it was before.

If anyone knows how to fix this i would be really grateful

Thanks

  1. The one in my room is a 14D1 that's nearly 20 years old and it still works perfect. There might be a pin cushion adjustment, but you don't usually get this on TVs it's mainly PC monitors. I'd say the tube is starting to die, you'll probably find it gets worse before not coming on altogether. You can probably get it repaired, but it's not much more to replace it.

  2. There might be a pin cushion adjustment in the back or under a little door somewhere.  If you have kids that might have found it and been playing with it, that will probably fix it.  If you can find some adjustment, like the one I described, but no one played with it.... then something is failing, and will probably go all the way in a few weeks...

  3. Most sets these days East/West correction is by entering the service menu and checking /adjusting if required or a faulty E/W Modulator. I would not recommend a user enter the service menu as can accidentally cause further problems.

Contact a dealer if no external adjustment evident.

  4. If it's one of the old type...The tube is going.
