Anyone have any experience with coverage through Coventry Health Care?

The University I work for recently switched their insurance coverage from United Health Care to Coventry.

I've only been to one doctor's office visit, which was in January, but there have already been two billing errors by Coventry - they denied coverage when they should have accepted it. They keep saying they'll fix the problems, but haven't yet.

Their website is also terrible - difficult to navigate once I've logged it. They don't give detailed claim information like every other insurance provider I've had. Half of the links don't work so just making an online complaint is an obstacle.

Anyone else have any experiences with Coventry - positive or negative?

  1. Coventry Healthcare is one of the carriers I write for, I place Medicare Advantage business with them. I have had a few issues with commission charge backs in error, all of which have been resolved over time. The customer/broker service line I use 866-386-2330 to resolve issues is always staffed 24/7 with friendly faces willing to help, so no complaint there. I don't like their web site either, and don't use it, I just phone them. Good Luck
