Anyone have any good ideas for getting burrs out of carpet?

We have the little triangle shaped burrs here on the coast. Everyone, including ourselves, who comes into our house tracks in about 30 on each foot. I know we can just take our shoes off at the door but it just isn't feasible to ask everyone to do that. The carpet just won't pick them up and I end up setting on the floor picking them up by hand and getting poked every time. Any suggestions?

wrap some Duck tape around your hand and run it on top of the burrs. the sticky part will pick hem up.
