I love baking homeade dishes, but I recently found out I am glucose intolerant, which is why I constantly have a weight problem. So long story short, no sugar for me! But splenda is okay! So I need recipes! Any good ones that you've tried?

  1. I find that splenda works well in any recipe instead of sugar. Just follow the directions on the splenda package. It is probably the same amount cup for cup.

  2. 2 packages ladyfingers

    2 lbs ricotta cheese

    1 2/3 cups splenda

    1 teaspoon vanilla

1/4 cup Creme de Cacao (Or Sweet Liquor)

1/4 cup sweet chocolate chips (or 2 broken Hershey bars)

    1/4 cup candied fruit (optional)

1 package Dream Whip (or 1/2 pint whipping cream)

Whip ricotta, splenda, vanilla and Creme de Cocoa.

    Fold chocolate in last.

First, place layer of lady fingers in a 13 x 9 pan, then alternate with ricotta mixture and remaining lady fingers.

Mix Dream whip according to pkg.

    directions, spread over the cake.

Sprinkle with nuts and broken chocolate pieces.

    Chill all overnight.

Hint: I use whipping cream-- tastes better.

I also split the lady fingers.

    Ricotta Cheesecake (Torta di Ricotta)

    1/2 cup golden raisins

1/4 cup Grand Marnier or cognac

    32 ounces ricotta cheese

    6 eggs, at room temperature

    1 cup splenda

    1/3 cup all-purpose flour

    1/4 teaspoon salt

    1 teaspoon cinnamon

    1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Zest of 1 lemon

    Zest of 1 orange

1/2 cup pine nuts, lightly toasted

Grease and flour one 9-inch springform pan. Set aside.

Place the raisins in a small bowl. Cover with Grand Marnier and allow to macerate. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.

Meanwhile, beat the ricotta cheese with an electric beater until fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time. Then add the splenda, flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and zest. Fold in the raisins and pine nuts.

Pour batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake until cheesecake is golden, and firm in the middle—about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Serve warm.

  3. Splenda can be used exactly the same as sugar, even in baking.  Use the same amount.  Find a recipe and replace the sugar with the Splenda.

  4. Kuh is absolutely wrong - use 1/2 C of splenda for every 1C of granulated sugar called for in a recipe - go to splenda's website if you don't believe me.

    SUGAR FREE SIMPLE SYRUP

    20 Servings

Many drink recipes call for Sugar Syrup. This version works in those recipes and is Diabetic-Friendly.

1 cup Sucralose Sweetener - Splenda or other brand

    1 cup Water - Boiling

Dissolve Splenda in water and allow to cool. Strain through a coffee filter to remove sediment. Use wherever a recipe calls for simple syrup.

NOTE : This recipe seems to work best with sucralose sweeteners.

Don't, confuse *Splenda for Baking* with bulk Splenda. It's important to read the product lables to know what you're dealing with. The version with maltodextrin and sucralose is what is called for in this recipe. The versions that also contain sucrose aren't suitable for this particular purpose.

  5. Don't use Splenda at all!

I like to say sucralose, not Splenda, because that is what Splenda is. And it is in a lot of stuff. The package doesn't have to say Splenda to have sucralose in it. You have to read labels. So, you might still be using it and don't even know it!

A lot of people, including myself, have gotten/are getting sick from it.

Sucralose is poison. It ruined five years of my life. I had a laundry list of medical problems while taking it. I went to several doctors. I had a dozen different tests. I was told that I had a number of different problems. I was on different medication for many years.

The slogan, "Made from sugar..." is very misleading. Splenda might be made from sugar, but it is far from sugar. The resulting chemical is an organochloride (chlorocarbon). Organochlorides are typically poisons.

carbon monoxide - made from oxygen so its like a breath of fresh air.

  6. You can sub splenda in just  about any recipe, there are a few exceptions. I like this better than any boxed pudding I've ever had!

    Banana pudding makes 8, 1/2 c servings

    3-1/4 cups milk

    3/4 cup and 2 splenda

1/4 cup and 2 teaspoons cornstarch

    1/2 teaspoon salt

    1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

    4 or 5 ripe bananas

    bag of Nilla wafers

1 tablespoon and 1-3/4 teaspoons butter

In medium saucepan over medium heat, heat milk until bubbles form at edges. In a bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Pour into hot milk, a little at a time, stirring to dissolve. Continue to cook and stir until mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a metal spoon. Do not boil. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and butter. Layer wafers, bananas, pudding till you use all the ingredients, ending with pudding on top. Cover & chill before serving.
