Anyone have any great small buisiness ideas?

i have decidied to start my own business, i am 20 years old and dont have any specific skills but am a bit of a wizz when it comes to hard graft and marketing/growing. i must complete a business plan and pitch it to local authoritys to recieve funding, Not recieving the grant is not an option, i know i will pass this point, the hard part is actually thinking of an idea i believe in in the 1st place, i had an idea already in mind but (believe it or not) someone else has decidied to open the same thing in 3 days in the same location...ideas please?

Depends on where you live; if you're in New York (for example), a small business of cleaning up floods would be profitable..

I'll let you have my business plan because I"m too poor to carry it through. Have you ever noticed that the big store chains and even the smaller ones, never have clothes for the BIG dogs, like Rotties or pit bulls? There is not a big market out there for these guys! My idea  was to create a line of clothing just for them, and call it TUFF-DOG, Inc. But, not only are these clothes for bigger dogs, what makes them unique, is that they are custom made to fit the owners life style and fashion style. Like say if a man is a hunter, then you make camaflage clothes for his big hunting dog. Or if a girl is a fashion diva, then her dog must look the same! I did manage to make 1 coat, It was a beautifully lined jacket with a fur collar, pockets  with velcro fasteners and the dogs name stitched on the pockets. To market my idea, I was going to go to Walmart, Pet Zone, etc., and ask them to let me put a demo out fit for viewing in their store with all the information.

How about a Delivery Bakery Service near college campuses.

You could either start you own and deliver just around a college campus near you. Otherwise there is a franchise called Insomnia Cookies. Check them out and see what you think and get an idea.

Baking is very simple to learn and takes practice to make things right. And maybe you can find the right product that will catch on and everyone will be asking for you to deliver for them

what about a family dollar or dollar general. what about an ebay store, it really depends on what the paople in your area like...if you live in hickvillle, the ebay thing woudnt work. what about a second hand consignement store for high end items? how about a babysitting service where people come in and have to do applications and take cpr....and then people with no sitter can go there or call the service to get one! I would love that in my town..

I've been in bus. for 28 yrs. And have been looking for a way to get in touch of customers out side of my area. There's so much advertising that you kinda get lost in the shuffle. Maybe you could help me out.

from what you have mentioned i think you should go for a retail business, since you dont have any specefic experience then you cant go for a service business or any business in that nature, a good retail shop depends on where you live in, if you live in states, given the economy status in states i think a dollar store or discount store would be a good idea.
