  1. Rent a Hotel Suite

Consider renting a nearby hotel suite. Guests can enjoy a meal of pizza or other finger foods in the room while taking advantage of hotel amenities. Most hotels offer an indoor pool, and some are equipped with whirlpools. What better way to spend the day than swimming and celebrating with friends?

    Bonfire Party

If your birthday is in the spring, summer, bring the celebration outdoors. Everyone loves a bonfire, and an 18th birthday party that includes a bonfire would be lots of fun for all. Provide everything guests need to roast hot dogs and make s'mores, and don't forget hot or cold drinks, depending on the temperature outside. Having a bonfire is a great way to celebrate and the mess is easy to clean up since it is outside of the home.

    Spa Celebration

You should be pampered for your 18th birthday!!  So, how about a spa celebration? Treat guests to a pedicure, a manicure, or a relaxing massage at a nearby salon.  Then take the party to a local restaurant for pizza and drinks.

  2. what do you like?  choose something, music, a fave animal, a sport you're really into or good at, a special talent you have, a fave show (mine are grey's anatomy & lost) and pic a topic.  you could just have a general theme, like colors or characters or something like that, and make all your deco and snacks reflect a  the theme in a silly way.  My home economics class in high school used to make cakes and raffle them off, i'll give you a silly recipe for a hamburger cake.

    2 boxes cake mix, 1 yellow & 1 chocolate

    1 can chocolate frosting

    2 cans white frosting

orange, yellow, green, red food coloring

    nilla wafers

    milk

    confectioner's sugar

Make the cakes using 9-inch round cake pans, cool & set aside.  Frost the top and sides of one of the vanilla cake rounds with orange frosting, set aside.  frost the top and sides of one of the chocolate cake rounds with chocolate frosting, set aside.

On a cardboard round or cake decorator (a lazy susan covered with parchment or wax paper will do), place the other vanilla cake round and frost the top and sides with orange frosting.  Place the chocolate frosted round on top of the first.

Color some of the white frosting green and ice 15 or so Nilla wafers with it.  Place the frosted wafers on top of chocolate cake round.

Mix 1/2 cup with 1/8 cup milk, adding more milk if needed to make thin icing.  Do this in three small bowls and make one red (like ketchup), one yellow (like mustard).  Drizzle each one on top of the layers so far, and place the last orange-frosted vanilla cake round on top of the whole mess.

It should look like a giant hamburger.

    Have fun.
