Anyone have any ideas for simple preschool projects that have to do with diamonds?

The kids can cut pretty good and they love to paint and color. So any sort of project that has something to do with Diamonds (the shape) would be wonderful.

Thanks.

  1. Draw some triangles on a piece of paper and get the children to colour them in/paint then get them to cut them out and get them to stick the two triangles to a piece of paper and get them to make a background or do the same idea except make a kite! Except with the string and all...hmm...

  2. Cut out triangles and have them paste the triangles onto a 2nd page so that they form diamonds.

  3. How about kites? They're the right shape and they can paint or color them.

  4. Work with diamonds, squares, and other regular shapes to create tesselations and other repeating patterns. These can be precut paper shapes that are glued in place, made of colored cardboard/posterboard, or plastic or wood shapes. You can buy kits or make your own.

  5. Have them make colorful collages/mosiacs. It only requires colorful paper, scissors, and glue (besides us mothers cherish stuff like that).
