Anyone have any ideas of making my own truck bed cover cheaper than them stores online?

Question

I don't want to invest more money in this truck since got ripped off with the value on this truck pricing. Any suggestions anyone?

Hmmm... Run 3 2x4's from the driver side to the passenger side of the bed on the top of the bed rails, 1 at the front near the cab, one in the middle and one at the back. Buy some particle board for the top and s***w it into the 2x4's. get some "L" brackets and s***w one into  the end of each 2x4 and tuck the taller part of the "L" bracket into the backside of the bed rail. And paint it with some house paint. And there you have it, a hillbilly tonneu cover!

actually those prices are not bad it will cost you more to make it yourself

depending on where you live for the most part if you pull it away from the road(salt) and keep it in the shade (where it wont get covered with derbies) and wash and wax at least twice a year(apr/oct) you should not need a cover
