Anyone have any ideas on what small insurance defense firms pay in northern virginia? my offer seems low?

I just checked a salary web site for new attorneys in Roanoke, probably nowhere near you, but it was the only city in VA I could think of!

It isn't specific to insurance defense, but it appears starting salary is likely going to be between $59,000 and $79,000.

You mean, you're going to work at a law firm that does insurance defense?  If you've passed the bar, it's probably going to be about $40K.
