  1. ok, here's a few that i've used with Bible verses:

My dad had me memorize a part of the verse for, say, a corner in my house. i'd say the part in the corner, then move to the kitchen. i'd say the next part in the kitchen. then i'd go back to the corner, say the first part, then to the kitchen and say the next part and so on.

Or, you could kindof make up a tune to go with what you're memorizing. What are you memorizing anyway?

  2. There are a couple of good books on memory training. I once bought one at a book sale and brought it home to find out that I already owned a copy. I guess it doesn't work every time.

What I can remember is that it helps to link what you want to remember with something you already know well. For example, numerals get linked with consonant sounds. One is with, d, t, or th; 2 with n, 3 with m; and so on Vowels are wild cards. It is easier to remember the word "memory" than the number 334, for example.

  3. How to Improve Your Memory:

  4. This sounds like a job for method of loci. Hannibal used this in silence of the lambs. He would remember each person he killed by a painting in this mansion.

You imagine your brain is your house. Every piece of information is an object in your house. So the first address maybe 123 fake street.  You say "123 fake street like the fake rolex watch in my kitchen". Now to retrieve the addresses later  you mentally walk through your house and every item you recall ties to an address. The watch is the first address, your cups are the second, your door is the last.

It also helps if the address can connect to the object well.(rhymes etc..)

  5. Good memorization techniques:

    1)  Close all radios, Ipods, and TV.

    2)  You must understand the material you want to learn.

    3)  Write down what you are learning. The hand has twice the memory of your eye.

    4)  Check what you have learn with the help a friend; your friend will ask you questions on the material: if you fail, start all over again.

  6. It helps a lot of people to start from the end and memorize to the beginning
