  1. Here is a site of SCAdians with Asian personas, you may find some info there or be able to contact individuals http://www.brassbricks.com/sca/east_asia...

The SCA Silk Road LJ may be another place for you to see assistance: http://community.livejournal.com/sca_sil...

This site is on Mongolian personas/garb but may have some info useful to you as well http://www.viahistoria.com/SilverHorde/G...

This site isn't exactly SCA related but you might get some use from it too: http://www.chinahistoryforum.com/index.p...

I know of several folks locally with Japansese personas (including my Prince!) but not so many with Chinese personas. Hope this helps!

  2. I apologize for not answering your question; others already have.  This is just a contrarian suggestion.

Think about not adopting a persona, or adopting more than one.  There are 'multiple Peers' with decades in the Society who have never adopted one, or only in jest or for temporary convenience. Others have invested huge efforts into theirs.

One of the best and worst parts of the SCA is the "Creative Anachronism" part.  Many groups re-do history better, but not many 'let' you be (dress as and portray to the degree you see fit) a German Landsknecht before Court and a Chinese noble merchant visiting Occidental lands at the feast later on.  With the same name or a different one if you choose.

There is a high and respectable art to developing and maintaining an historic persona in the SCA.  But it can limit one's ability to enjoy the 'creative' aspects of the anachronism.  Either way, you can always change your mind later.  Most do.
