  1. i have a friend who had her baby at 28 weeks, he was very tiny and I will not lie to you they faced a lot of hard days and ups and downs and it was a rollar coaster.. he spent about 10 weeks in the NICU and is now a healthy and happy 9 month old..

Just try to take the best care of yourself and listen to your doctors every word.. I wish you the best but take comfort in knowing that each day improves your babys chances and that now even at 29 weeks, your baby has a wonderful chance!

  2. my nephew was born at 32 weeks and he did spend a few weeks in the hospital after he was born to be monitored and stuff, appearently he had an issue where he would forget to breathe, but they had him on a monitor that set off an alarm if he stopped breathing and the alarm would startle him and he'd start breathing again. he was in the hospital for two or three weeks, then he came home and now he's a little chunky monkey! cutest thing next to my own son (i am biased). healthy as can be and growing rapidly.. i guess my point is even if your baby is a preemie, being a loving caring and protecting mother, you'll see it through! think about those women who have babies that have serious problems.. my friends son had a feeding tube until he was two and a half years old.. my own son was born with a cleft lip and palate and has been a roller coaster of emotions, mostly fear! but whenever i get down, i start to think to myself, It could be worse, it could be SO much worse, and i admire those parents that just "deal with it" i want to be like them..

  3. my grnadmother was pregnant with her first baby when she suddenly went into labor at about 28 weeks or so. she gave birth to her baby boy when they realized there was another one in there- one of my uncles was sent to boston children's hospital where my grandmother hadn't heard anything about him for 2 weeks- they are both almsot 50 today and very healthy- in fact- the one who went to the other hospital is about 6'4 the other is 6'2

  4. My daughter, Destiny, was born at 30 weeks.  She had to stay in the hospital for a month but she is 9 years old now and very healthy, happy and smart!  God Bless!

  5. All three of my babies wanted to come early starting at 18 weeks to 25 weeks.  Luckily my recent was my only NICU stay.  However I have met some amazing parent/baby teams that spent time in the NICU.  Lucy was my smallest and was the queen bee in the NICU at 5lbs.  The smallest in there was 2.5lbs.  Soooo tiny and born at just 25 weeks.  The amazing thing is these doctors and nurses are so experienced and educated these day to take care of these tiny angels that a vast majority survive to live healthy normal lives... even the smallest babies escape with minimal complications in later life due to the technology and medicine available.  Follow your doctors instructions to the T... 29 weeks is very small and will require a lengthy NICU stay (approx the length remainder of your pregnancy) but chances of survival these days are great!  Best Wishes I will pray for you!

  6. My youngest cousin was born weighing 1 lb 8 oz. After several months in the NICU, he went home. Today, he is a happy, healthy, 8 year old!

  7. Well I know someone who just had a baby at 25 weeks pregnant, her baby was 1lb, but everything is going ok.  They will be in the hospital for a little while, but she will survive. Now-a-days tech. is so great that having a baby at 29 weeks, your baby will have a great chance of living.

Good luck, I am sure everything will be fine, but if I heard that I would be scared also.
