  1. practice before hand, practice hitting the ball with your arms out away from your chest. that is the ball hitting position, and hands folded thumbs together and remember when the ball comes to you hit up and ALWAYS bend your knees always thats the ready position makes you hit the ball better. Learn how to serve also, underhand and overhand which ever your comfortable with, and movement is key dont be afraid to fall on your knees to hit the ball if you have knee pads. watch some videos on volley ball on you tube so you can see how they play. skill is natural if u have none you have to practice on it to gain it

practice practice practice by yourself or with somebody

    with a partner is better

good luck and if anything hit me up

  2. I'm going into The 7th grade also. I'm trying out for volleyball too. My tips are practice a lot. do your best. try to set up a net or mark it somewhere. the net is 8feet high and 15ft wide. practice practice practice!!!

  3. have you played before?

i think the biggest thing, is to show a lot of enthusiasm, and show that you want to put in the effort. even if you may not be the best on the team, showing the coach that you're willing to put in the work will be a big plus for you.

also, if you have some time before try-outs, start conditioning. get a ball and start playing around with it, and get comfortable with it. do wall squats, lunges, and get in some good runs (back and forth across a basketball court - you'll need quick endurance). you want to show that you are in condition to play.

hopefully that helps. have fun playing - i loved volleyball in school. it's a great sport! :) good luck.

  4. well the best tip for that is...be confident and have the spirit! because if you are confident on what you are doing you will have the spirit to the what is the given task. 2nd, well if you believe you can do it, you can. 3rd if you know what you are doing, you'll be in the voleyball team just make it sure you know how to play, the basics and lastly the most important thing have the discipline and determination for that sport you want to be in with. goodluck! from the team captain of the Philippines in College degree.

  5. i played volleyball in middle school and i was a little nervous. But at that age level coaches will look for someone with a positvie attitude who gives full effort to every aspect of the game. So, have relax, have fun, and be encouraging to the other players. Good Luck!

  6. The number one thing a coach will look for at your level is - "What kind of attitude will this girl bring to practice?"  You may not know a 10' line from a clothes line, but if you SHOW your coach that you'll work hard, listen to him/her and be coachable, and be a good teammate, you will make a team and be successful.  Good Luck.

Oh Yeah - show the coach.  Don't just walk in and expect the coach to notice you.  Show the coach.  Run when everyone else is walking.  Shout when everyone else is mumbling.  Smile when everyone else is groaning.  Have fun when everyone else is staring at the floor.  From the time you walk into the gym to the time you leave. (By the way, it's not a bad way to live your life either)

    I hope this helps

  8. You should not freak out! I started playing volleyball my 7th grade year. I stunk, but I kept a good attitude and I made the team! Now that I am in my 8th grade year, I start on Varsity. And remember use the backsides of your wrists to bump the ball!
