My employer is closing the office but is requiring me to be at work tomorrow to answer phones (I'm an admin asst). I've driven in plenty of bad weather....extreme pourdowns, hail, etc but never a hurricane w/ 75 mph winds. I drive a small car (Corolla) if that helps any. Anyone have any tips for driving in a hurricane?

Please don't tell me...

...to stay home b/c my employer said they will fire me if I do.

...to find a new job. Noone within a 40 mile radius of my home is hiring except for McDonalds.

  1. pray.

  2. stay home or somewhere safe. let him fire you. any lawyer half ways credible will have you the job back and a big fat settlement by months end. i think this question is probably bogus! dang near everyone knows that the phones, and the electricity are the first to go with those kinds of winds.

  3. Stay home.  Your life is more important than your job.  No one is going to fire you for that anyway.

  4. Stupid question. Anyone with any sense at all would stay home when a hurricane strikes. Obviously YOU are a moron. If you really want to go to work tomorrow maybe you need to rent a truck for travelling down the flooded streets.
