I share a room w/a 12-year-old sister (I'm 13) and i really want to reorganize our closet. we have a shelf way up top and under that is the pole which clothes on hangers hang on. on our closet floor we have a laundry basket for dirty clothes, some shoes, and a three drawers. keep in mind that i don't want things to stay exactly the same. I want a change and a nice way to mix things up. Also any good ideas of things to add to my closet.

Oh and one last thing: you may want to also consider where socks, bathing suits, and pajamas ect. are going to go.

  1. alright first take out everything. then go through all your clothes and keep what you really want and donate the rest.

Then if you want to change it up, if your parents let you, get a new closet system like so:

i know that is VERY expensive just for a closet, but something along those lines. they come in different styles and colors just look around.

if you cant do that, and you have to keep the one pole, then you can get a few of these:

those come in different colors too. that way you could put your socks, bathing suits, and pjs like you said in those.

you can keep the drawers for extra storage and if you don't have a shoe rack you can get one of those too. Instead of a closet door, you could get a curtain or even beads to go over it for a different feel..

good luck and i hope i gave you some ideas ! :]

  2. as you share the shelf above you could half the space and each have lidded boxes and store your night ware ect there you know where they are but you don't have tumbling piles to fall out have a few boxes and have lables on so you know the contents.

and follow the advice of throwing out things you no longer want or fit..........

  3. You will have to spend a little money first on pretty boxes to hold socks, undies ETC. then sort your clothes into Spring, Summer, Winter. once that is done, Start at the front of the closet with what ever season it is where you live. if it's summer put the summer clothes at the front followed by the next seasons clothes and so on. Next sort into categories, sleeveless, short sleeves, long sleeves. behind them shorts, Capri's, and long pants. then follow on with skirts, dresses and coats. do this for every season. you;ll find things easier . when all your clothes are arranged the last thing you do is color co ordinate each set starting with the lightest color.

It's up to you where the pretty boxes filled with undies, socks and accessories go. but if you choose boxes that you can stack, it will look much nicer, and you can always label each box with what's inside.

  4. Mine is organized by type (shirts, pants, dresses, skirts) and then by color.  It makes it a lot eaiser to find what you are looking for.
