  1. Go see a dermatologists. They either do the procedure themselves, or know who does (sometimes, several dermatologists get together and have one "laser center", due to the high cost of the equipment).

Contrary to what someone else has stated, your health insurance will not cover this, unfortunately, unless you have one of the more expensive private insurances with an extra agreement for cosmetic procedures. :(

It's really better to go by your doctor's recommendation - you can also sometimes get it done by cosmetologists an such, but having it done by a medical professional is safer, has a higher chance of success, and means you will get the very best of equipment used on you, as opposed to the smaller, cheaper versions cosmetologists sometimes have.

You can try talking a mixture of German and English to your doctor - they must know at least some, and with any luck, their English might even be very good.

  2. Well, you surely have a doctor in Frankfurt, don't you??? Ask your physician and he/she might give you some good addresses to contact!  And many German hospitals are also doing this job as well.   If it's also a big medical problem, your German health insurance even might cover the costs.  The health insurance also has addresses of laser hair removal facilities in Frankfurt.

    Good luck!

    Greetings from Germany...

@Ms. S: you're wrong - health insurance might cover it.  One of my friends here had the same problem past year and his health insurance covered all costs - and he doesn't has a private health insurance, neither.

  3. Hi There !

From the sound of your question, you are either an American Servicemember, the spouse of one, or a DOD Civilian.  If this is the case, then you are either covered by TRICARE or the standard insurance for DOD civilians.  Neither of these will cover laser hair removal.  As I understand it, the procedure isn't really that expensive so you 'should' be able to handle it out-of-pocket.

There are many skin doctors in the Darmstadt / Hanau area that can help you with this procedure.  Most of the medical professionals in Germany have a pretty good understanding of English, so your language skills shouldn't be much of an issue.  Without knowing where "around Frankfurt" you are, I can only suggest to go to the link below and enter the town/city that you live in and search for Haut Arzt (this is Skin Doctor in German).  If you live in the Darmstadt area, I can recommend a good doctor in Dieburg and another in Reinheim (they are the only ones in those towns, so your search at the website below will show them).

Good luck with your search.  I hope you find what you're looking for.
