Anyone have experience in Chinatown in Paris?

I actually read that there are two "chinatowns".

Thoughts? Interesting?

I'm interested in Asian culture, and love looking at Asian women. Will it be a good place to visit when I'm in Paris, or will I get beaten to a pulp? :)

  1. There are two Chinatowns. The smaller is in the area called Belleville and the main one in the 13th arrondissement.

In the 13th the center is the place d'Italie, and its borders are the avenue d'Ivry, avenue de Choisy and boulevard Masséna. I am told that there are as many as 150 Asian restaurants in the neighborhood.

La Mer de Chine at 159, rue Château des Rentiers is considered by many to be the best Chinese restaurant in Paris. I should mention that much of the menu is only in Chinese.

Frankly, going to Paris to check out Chinatown is like going to Beijing to check out the KFC.
