Anyone have historian viewpoints on King Louis XVI during the French Revolution?

  1. Louis XVI was weak, incompetent, and indecisive.  He was more interested in keeping his wife happy and living a life of luxury than in running a nation.


  2. he was terribly incompetent and very much unable to rule over his country with a firm hand. he was a very large man who used to fritter away the state money on large banquets and feasts, also his wife of the time was having many affairs behind his back and as he was weak minded she was also able to run the country as her wishes were Louis command. he also spent much of his time playing with locks and clocks as this was one of his interests. and the year before the revolution there was a poor harvest which left the government with little money which he still managed to squander away.
