  1. Thjey have better ones in Waitrose.

  2. Music is always a good idea (i know that the preschoolers I worked with love the song "shake my sillies out").  If you want the children to work together, have them solve a riddle of a puzzle.

  3. Do small group activities such as play doh, story time, puzzles, dancing, singing. Children love games like follow the leader or simon says or head shoulders knees and toes, or cutting or coloring.

  4. mad-ads

  5. I'd say that puzzles, story time, and Legos are great for ages 3-6. Also, dancing to songs like Cha-Cha Slide where they tell you what to do. Playing games such as Simon Says, Red light Green light and all that.

  6. younger kids love to paint, its just a problem when they start to paint because, as we all know, they make a MESS!!! water colors are a good idea, and washables. but jr. legos are awesome for kids under 6 years old.

  7. Your options are endless to encourage co-operative play. Firstly think about the types of dramatic play scenarios you can create - home corner, shops, fire station, restaurant, police station, pet shop - I think you get the idea!

Other activities that foster co-operative play include group board games for the older 4-6 yr olds such as snakes and ladders, ludo, lotto etc encouraging turn taking and following rules (of the game).

You can also incorporate co-operative play into their creative development - group collages, group paintings, group construction (put out a whole heap of big boxes and assorted bits and pieces with glue or tape and see what happens!)

Then you can incorporate co-operative play into their physical development with games such as duck, duck goose, what's the time Mr Wolf, Cat and Mouse etc.

These are just a few ideas.... if you would like some more feel free to email me. Good luck with your assignment.

  8. any kind of dramatic play - like house, kitchen, dress up, etc.  also, blocks, playdough, or legos - where you have to work together to build something.
