Anyone have ideas on how to promote a sports website?

I own a free sports discussion website. It is (in my opinion) well made. It has free membership. Forums, Live chat, well written articles. Yet, I still can not get many people to join the site. Anyone have any ideas on how to promote a sports site like this? I really didn't think this would be this hard to promote.

1) Redo the "Join the fun.".

Remove the "click here" - everyone knows what banners are. Enlarge the text as you did in "enter live chat".

2) Site does not look right when viewed with Firefox + NoScript. Check and try to improve the design.

3) I would experiment with darker text. This one is barely OK. I think that making it slightly darker will be enough. Skim through the Wikipedia article. Your site really is good so do not change it too much.

4) Maybe think about structuring your site better. What if I am only interested in football? I would give only the links to articles (maybe with a few sentences of summary) on the homepage. This way much more of them can be presented.

5) BE PATIENT! Your site's content looks good so you WILL get visitors. It will be slow at first so do not give up!

6) If you need some more tips, visit my page. Do not expect mircales though. You have a good site - just concentrate on content, throw a few ads and you will be perfectly OK!

2.If u have the money u can use google adwords.

3. U can use traffic exchange for free.

4.U can buy some traffic from various traffic sites.

  If u want it done fast then buy traffic or use google adwords.
