Anyone have information on Vonage phones?

We are thinking of switching to Vonage, and I'm looking for any insights people have had with using the company. I'd appreciate both positive and negative experiences. Thanks!

My friend has Vonage and says it is ok.  Just because a company has thier product plastered all over commercials does not make it the best product for you.  It is always best to shop and compare. As with anything, Just be careful of hidden fees.

We like a lesser known VOIP company called 'Momentum Plus". There are no connection fees, taxes or cancellation fees.

This will give you a selection in which to make the best choice for you.  Additionally, all the companies listed above have their own features, but only one offers you a business opportunity.  The other ones are just happy to take your money.

Please be careful. Vonyage is a third party phone company and yes share internet lines. If you are looking for a more secure landline with VOIP capability to lower your cost, ACN has VOIP with it's own phone line.

vonage is g*y because it uses your internet connections. so when you have a mom that talks all day you will have slow internet all day.

Vonage is amazing. I have been using it for 4 years now and no problems. Its very good. the Only negative thing about is that sometimes the voice quality is not great and it cuts in and cuts out but its rare and u can simply hang up and call again.Also dont rely on their 911 service as if your internet is down Vonage will not work and u will not be able to make a 911 call.   But  I am very happy with it.

Vonage is not g*y. There is plenty of bandwidth for vonage and whatever else your doing online.

It's cheap, they give you a huge grace period.Voice mail can be SMS or emailed to your cell phone.

There is also a vonage native app for iphone that alerts your cell with the recorded voicemail messages you miss. You can change settings such as call forwarding and privacy.

The 1-800 number is really cheap as well.
