Question:

Anyone have personal recommendations for good 4 or 5 star hotels in London?

I know this might sound crazy but I'm already in the preliminary stages of planning a trip to London in 2012 for the Olympics.

First problem is, I've never been to London and really have no knowledge of it at all.

So that brings me to my question. Does anyone have any recommendations for any good four or five star hotels centrally located in London?

Looking for a hotel that will be in the middle of the madness in London in 2012.

Thanks!

  1. You'll find the biggest list and the best prices for them here:

    http://www.hotelscombined.com?a_aid=781b...

  2. Check this http://hotels.AmericaCheapHotels.com/Cit...

  3. I think the four or five star hotels are going to be unbelievably expensive. Try:

    -----------------

The Comfort Inn & Suites Kings Cross (GB143)

    31-33 Argyle Street , London, EN, GB, WC1H 8EP

    | Phone: (44) 207 837 3109 Fax: (44) 207 278 3870

    -----------------

Rates right now are about 160 GBP per night for a:

    1 Bedroom Suite

    Living Room

    Sofabed-2Person

    FREE Continental Breakfast

    Microwave

    Refrigerator

    -----------------

The advantage of this hotel is that you can walk to St. Pancras so that you can ride the "Olympic Javelin" over to the Olympic Events (high speed train, only a 7 minute ride). Also you will be within walking distance of a lot of the night-time excitement.

Hotels with this kind of location will be precious, so I have no idea how much they will charge. They may be taking reservations now.

  4. 2012 is too far in advance and of course prices will not have been set for then.

But you should have a look through the 4 and 5 star options here :

    London : http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/Unite...

There are so many options , so narrow it down a bit into desirable areas to stay like :

    Knightsbridge : http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/Unite...

    Mayfair : http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/Unite...

    South Kensington : http://www.cheaperthanhotels.co.uk/Unite...

Centrally located is probably not the best place. The City is wher ebusiness is conducted ... and closer to the London Olympic venues , but hardly desirable.
