my dd cut her first tooth at ten weeks to the day, and is drooling profusely..at times she even seems to choke on it; she gets really red in the face and seems like it interferes with her breathing for just a few seconds...just about the time we are going to flip her over and start whacking, she makes a big gasp....doesn't seem to bother her as much as us, but it has scared her at times...anyone else have/had this prob and what did you do to help baby? i am particularly worried bc she is so young, i don't think she knows what to do when the drool piles up in her mouth instead of coming out her mouth...any help would be appreciated...thanks

  1. Yikes, you poor thing, and her!

I thought my son teething at 4 1/2 months was early!

One thing we did to stop him swallowing so much drool was to give him plenty of time on his tummy - it did mean pools of saliva on the bunny rug, but better out than in. By that stage he was holding his head up well, and loved playing with the different textures under him, so it was a distraction too.
