Anyone have this problem? Can't clear the new message icon on my LG Dare.?

I received a picture message but when I went to download it, it gave me an error. No big deal. But it still shows the little icon for a new text message on the main menu screen. I deleted ALL text messages but it still shows that icon. Any ideas on how to clear it?
