I'll be going into 9th grade on the 18th and I am so freaked out. Like, I feel so unprepared. Does anyone have tips for me, just going into high school?

  1. High school is the same as middle school, but with more tax dollars to waste on "education."

In other words, your locker's bigger. That's the only difference.

  2. do not show fear because other older kids can smell that and take you down. but it is pretty fun.

  3. I'm going to be a freshmen also and I am kind of nervous also, just be your self around everyone and respect everyone which includes the teachers and staff. And don't feel unprepared just get everything on your school supplie list, if your school doesn't give a school supplie list just get basics like a binder with paper, note books, high lighters, pens, and pencils etc

don't worry everyone is going to be nervous! Some may even be more nervous then you!

  4. i know exactly how you feel! i'm a one-semester senior, finishing up my final credits and i feel very unprepared, mostly because it's my last year and i feel like i don't have time to get anything done!

just be confident in yourself, and make sure you have a single subject notebook for each class, a 3 ring binder with loose paper and tabs, pencils and ink pens, and a backpack big enough for all of that, plus maybe a book or two. backpacks may not be the cutest thing, but they carry everything and have thousands of convenient pockets. just make sure to wear both the straps and don't overload the bag so your back isn't hurting! =]

and try not to skip classes or ignore your homework, i did that and i'm still paying for it....

this is when everyone (or at least most everyone) grows up and develops a sense of who they really are, so even the mean kids could turn out being your best friend by grade 11!

plus, the older kids aren't mean, and they don't deserve to be treated any better than anyone else just for being older. :p

i never understood why they think that........

high school can be intimidating, but it's not so bad! just think back to 6th grade, you were probably way nervous too, right? but you got through it, and you'll get through this just fine.

just go with the flow, girl, and you'll be graduated in no time =]

  5. The unknown is always scary at any age. Your feelings are totally normal. There is really no advice anyone can give you because everybody experiences life differently. You'll figure it out once you start attending and living out the experience.

  6. Just take a deep breath and enjoy every moment. It flies by so quickly! Remember that the drama may seem important at the time, but it's never worth the emotional stress.

DO NOT let your grades slip below a C you freshman year. In most schools, it's very difficult to get your GPA back up if you fail classes in your first year.

Make new friends. Staying with the same ones all the time hinders the experience of meeting new people. The upper class-men aren't unapproachable. They're just like every other human being; they don't like to be annoyed.

Keep up with your work of course, but have some fun, too! (responsible, legal fun). Go to the games and other school sponsored events. It's a great way to meet people in the grades above you.

Like I said, just take a deep breath and have fun!

  7. wear a poodle skirt

  8. well the first thing you have to do is find your crowd to be with..

other wise every will judge you and that will go towards your reputation..so the cooler  the crowd you hang around with the more popular you are other wise you will be at the bottom "ranks" which i woulndt want to be in.find a crowd for everyhting...morning,lunch,and after school...other then that is great and you will have many good experiences and not so good experiences.....but yeah..it will all depend on you..good luck

  9. High school may seem a little scary at first but it's really not that much different than middle school it's about the same. There is nothing to be freaked out about. Try and make new friends, make sure you do your school work on time b.c they get strict with that in high school, study a lot because it can tend to be hard at times, and most importantly be yourself =]

  10. its not as bad as most people think it is.

  11. Why are you so scared? High school can be hard at times but it really isn't that bad. Just be confident and show people that you won't take their c**p, but be nice to people.

  12. Yo Phil J i don't have lockers at my high school so p**s off.

  13. It's not too hard. Just relax because worrying excessively will make it seem worse than it really is.
