okay so ive been getting this weird boils.. first i got one on my stomache in the beggining of the summer and thought it was just a pimple b/c they puss inside, so after that went away i got a HUGE one on my left thigh, along with another large one on my right leg. when i was at one of my ears nose & throat appointments, the doctor just happened to see one of the boils on my leg and wrote me a prescription. he wrote a liquid prescription but nowhere had liquids anymore only capsule form. i CANNOT take pills for my life, so i didnt take them. supposivley they dont make liquid medications for boils? thats ridiculous.. and now i have the one the size of an egg on the back of my right leg.. about 6 on my face (not big ones small ones, but still very painful) once they go away another one just pops right up. it sucks and now i gotta wait for this stuid insurance thing. anyone ever have trouble with boils? ive been going threw alot of stress latley so maybe thats why but im only 15 years old. so yeah if you have HELPFUL suggestions feel free to write them.. otherwise pointless comments will be ignored =) thanks bye.

  1. try breaking the pills in half. if left untreated some of them can become infected and get into your blood stream and make you extremely sick. My husband had to have his boil removed that was on his back, it grew to the size of a golf ball.

  2. Yes I used to have an old stove and it boiled water really slow.  But I got a new one and it boils really fast.

actually it sounds like you need to figure out how to take pills.  I get a big gulp of water in my mouth then put the pill in and swallow.  It's the opposite of how most people take them but maybe it''ll work.  Also ask the pharmacist if it's a pill you can chop up or crush and put in something.  Hopefully this helps.

  3. Try taking the pills with applesauce.  Do not break them unless the pharmacist says it is OK.  Take all the pills.  The bacteria that causes those boils often becomes resistant to bacteria.  Google MRSA for some really scary pictures.

BTW, what are your parents thinking letting you get away with not taking your medicine?

  4. I had some of these... important thing to remember is to not pop them as it will spread the bacterial to other parts of the body... basics... keep clean, use warm clean washclothers to help "bring the boil to a head".... I got a prescription from a doctor for antibiotic cream and a tar like cream called ictomol *cant spell it* which also helped "draw out" the boil...
