Anyone having trouble receiving there check from a amended return?

It has now been 16 weeks as of Monday.

How long ago did you file the amended return?  Under normal circumstances they take 8 to 12 weeks to process.  This year is running about a month longer due to the workload at the IRS.  I did one for a client in late February and it still hasn't come through yet.

YES : (    I am spitfire angry about this too.

I had to file an amended return to report some income not on my original e file return. So, being the honest person I am I also sent a check for the difference (between refund received and refund I should have gotten) along with amended on April 13th. Two weeks later the IRS cashed the check through my bank before the return was even processed and now customer service rep says that it will be until the end of next month until I get my stimulus check. I did amended return when I did because I thought it would help to get it taken care of before stimulus checks were sent out. Yeah see what happens to being honest??? Darned government taking their sweet time as usual when they owe you!!!  Sorry for the rant I had to let it out. But that is my story. Hope other HONEST tax paying citizens don't get wrung like I did. Good luck to all.

Unfortunately, there is a huge back-log of amended returns waiting to be processed. If it's been more than 12 weeks since the IRS received the 1040X, the customer service representative can make a referral to the department working the return which will hopefully speed things up.
