I'm thinking of studying abroad there, but I've never heard of it, and can't really find much about it. Anyone know anything relating to life in the town, etc. I really need some input please, thanks!!

  1. Stunning area with some of the most beautiful mountains in the world - but very quiet and fairly conservative.  If you want a semester of tranquility in a remote place with lots of opportunity for sports (skiing in winter, trekking/mountain biking in summer) - perfect!  But if you're hoping for someplace multicultural, with a wild nightlife and close links to other cities, it's not ideal.

  2. Paderno del Grappa is a pretty small town near Bassano del Grappa and Asolo. The area is very nice - close to the Dolomite mountains. Treviso is an interesting town, as is Bassano del Grappa. I haven't actually stopped in Paderno del Grappa though. With about 2000 people, it will be pretty quiet most of the time. If you like treking and white water rafting, this would be a good area to be based in. Your best bet would be to get in touch with someone who has participated in the program from your campus. If there's no one there, you might try contacting Kansas or Oregon Universities since they both participate in the program.

If you're there in September, it's worth going to Marostica for this event: http://www.marosticascacchi.it/a_2_EN_9_...
